THE VIRUS

2 short weeks ago, I went through one of the worst experiences of my internet history. I contracted a computer virus. I'm not sure if it was one related to the twitter attack that also took place at the same time. I researched it and was or could of been the Convicker virus. I spent alot of time trying to make my computer work. But failed. I stayed up at all hours of the night, to my my dismay. Anyhow, I went and bought security protection software from Fry's. Though I already had McAfee. And, it pretty much made it worse. To the point a blue screen simply came up and I knew I was in for it. I contacted a techie, and so we pretty much had to dump all my programs. You know things that help you get along in your study and all. Total I paid more than $220.00. I caught the Virus. A virus is a bacteria. It is a disease. Is there an area in your life. Where you try and try, and try. There seems to be no answer. God is the answer for your life. Sometimes we must dump all we have. Our experiences. Our ministry history. Our pride. To the point we are all so vulnerable. But, not too worry. God is there with you. He will not let you fail. Anyhow, a virus is an infection. No matter what I tried to do it did not work. Yes a virus is an infection. And there is difference between an infection and addiction. We all know what addiction entails. Yet, I’m talking addicted as in ministry. 1 Cor 16:15 says, "I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints," KJV

Addiction means habit; Influence, Power; authority; Hope, reliance; Confidence; Compulsion;

1. Stephanas was a sign from God - A sign God was moving in Achaia.
2. Stephanas was refreshing in ministry - He had caught the vision.
3. Stephanas was a treasure - His name means crown. Isa. 45:2-3
4. Stephanas became addicted to the ministry.

What did they do?

They showed hospitality. They met needs of people for the Lord. They helped Paul further the movement of God. It was a self -imposed duty. And, boy, today, don't we need more Stephanas'? We need more wives and families of Stephanas. The Bible says, it was the whole family. His household. That means relatives included.

What about you? Are you addicted to the ministry"

Let's look at a person addicted to drugs. Addiction comes in 3 ways.

(I know, this is a negative example. Maybe I shoulda talked about addicted to shopping?) Whew!

1. Desire - They have an overpowering desire for the drug.
2. Develop - Develop a high tolerance. Need a stronger dose.
3. Dependance - Person needs drug to function. Basically strung out.

What does the Bible mean concerning Stephanas?

The more Stephanas ministered, the more he felt compelled to serve. The more he was encouraged and led by God, The more he wanted to reach more people for the Lord. He was addicted to ministry for love's sake.

What is going to take?

1. It takes a love for people
2. It takes a passion for the mission.
3. It takes faith to reach the city.
4. It takes people who cross the threshold to embrace their future.

When the telegraph was the was the fastest way of long-distance communication at that time, a young guy applied for a job as a Morse Code operator. He answered an ad in the paper, then went to the office address that was listed. He got there then entered a large, busy office filled with a lot of noise, including the sound of the telegraph in the background. A sign on the counter told job applicants to fill out a form and wait till they were called to enter the office. The man filled out his form then sat down with 7 other applicants in the waiting area. After a few minutes, the young guy stood up, crossed the room to the door of the office, then walked in. Then the other people were surprised, wondering what was going on. They said among themselves that they hadn't heard any direction yet. They thought the young man who went into the office made a mistake and would be disqualified. Within a few minutes, the manager came out with the young man and said to the other men, "Gentlemen, thank you for coming, but the job has been filled." The other applicants began complaining to each other, and one spoke up saying, "Wait a minute, I don't understand. He was the last to come in, and we never got a chance to be interviewed and he got the job. It’s just not fair!" The employer said, "Look, I'm sorry, but all the time you've been sitting here, the telegraph has been ticking out the following message in Morse Code: 'If you understand this message, then come right in. The job’s yours!’ Yet because none of you heard it or understood it. This young man heard it. So the job is his."

What about you? Do you hear the call? Devote yourself and become addicted to God, to the ministry, along with our families. And point to Him. Giving the Lord our best. And be just like Stephanas and Co. Okay? Let's do this.

Once again, leave your comments, if you can. See Ya.

The Importance Of Your Health, Pt. 3

The Importance Of Your Health,

Your health is very important. Your health is the vehicle that will take you beyond your horizons. It is the vessel that will be there when we achieve our dreams. It is the temple from which God dwells within our life. It is the talent that God wants us to manage to the best of our ability. We have to live with this body, day in, and day out. It is a friend to us. It takes us wherever we go. It tells us when we're pushing it to hard. And it trusts us to take care of it. There are many Christians today. And I might add leaders, and pastors, that feel health is a minor issue. Their sentiment is, "Well, brother, that's not a major concern, for us, uh, uh, right now." But these are the same guys who have diabetes. Have heart issues. Have physical problems. Take medication. Multiple medications, I might add. And sometimes, these are the Christian leaders who will not allow anyone to share wisdom to them concerning this point. I hope you are not at all as this. Once again, I am not perfect. But I am striving. I am doing the best of my ability. I want to do everything within my grasp, to fulfill God's will within my life. I want to serve Him with all I've got. And yet, live a life of abundance in the Lord. Abundance of His presence in my life. I am a pastor. And you pastors know the rigors and pressure of Christian ministry. I am a father. My son needs me. What will he do without me at this point? What if you, as parent, If your kids lost their mama or dad. What if your church lost you to some dreaded disease? If you were no longer around? Can you just picture that? Heh? You are very important!

1. Health biblically, is a major issue. We were born with a purpose. We were made to live life to the fullest. We have been called for such a time as this. For there are many lands to conquer. There are many people to reach. There are broken families standing on the brink. The cry of the hurting in each of our communites has gone up to heaven. And God is looking for a man, a woman, who will walk, and do everything He desires.

2. We cannot fulfill God's will to the ultimate if our health is in shambles. Fulfill God's will to the best we want. Why? Because we're limited, that's why. If you are at a place, where your health is not the best. There is a solution. God is with you. He will help you.

3. We can stop the downward trend, by paying more attention to our health. If you're a young person, now is the time to devlop healthy trends in exercise, eating habits and mindset. If you're a parent, and you do have a healthy lifestyle, begin to develop health as important within your family, spouse and children.

In this our last segment concerning our physical health, I would like to stress 12 things that can help us in the race we run:

1.) Obedience - Obedience to God's word concerning our health. I cannot stress this any stronger.

2.) Eat the righ foods - Lev. 11 There's a good many foods which are very good for us. And, to be very honest with you, here in Southern California, there are good many restauarnts and foods. One of my loves, is Mexican food. But, it might not be the very best for me. You, know the greases, the lard, the fried stuff. So I have to fight to be careful. What about you in the East Coast? The Puerto Rican Food? The Pizza? How about you, down South? Those Ribs? Those Chitlings? Hey, its there. But eat the right foods.

3.) Relax in overeating - Over eating is the cause of obesity. Here you go again, you say? Nope! I'm talking of lifestyle change. Change hurts. It moves us outside of our comfort zone. It move us from the playground into the battle ground. It calls for diligent effort for a goal or a cause. Obesity on the other hand, leads to coronery disease, diabetes, digestive diseases, and the like. God has given us a choice. Gen. 7:1-3

4.) Laugh and have joy - There's too many gloomy Christians. There's too many depressed families. There's too many frustrated leaders. Laugh and have joy. Take time to reflect on God's goodness. Play to win. Don't play not to lose. Play to win. Take a day off. Do something you've wanted to do for a long time. Go fly a kite! Read a good book. Laugh and have joy. I know I'm in that mode. I realize, I only have one life. I want to look back and laugh, and rejoice. Then, probably in the same vein, begin to cry. Cry because of His hand on my life. For allowing me to have a blessed life. Blessing me with a good son, who is going to another level. (Still a work in progress. I have faith.) Allowing me to share a good 17 years with the most beautiful person, my beloved, now in the glories of heaven. For being able to pastor one of the greatest churches I've been a part of. A church of friends, servants of God, restored families. Just a good and quality people. For being a part in one of the greatest purpose driven ministries, the world has ever known. Victory Outreach International. Thank you, Lord! Laugh and have joy!

5.) Exercise and stay active - Do physical work. Did you know that between the ages of 30 - 70, we lose about 30% of our muscle? That it turns to fat? So get out of the house. Plant a garden. Go play basketball, handball. Go bowling. Take walks. Run. When you go shopping, don't park too close to the store. Park a little farther. Why? So you can at least walk a little more. For the exercise. To get your heart pumping. Prov. 6:6-11; 10:4-5; 14:23

6.) Get proper sleep and rest. Now on this, I am most guilty. My feeling is I wish there was more hours in the day. Yet, we must get rested up. Rest goes a long way for our health. We all need our rest. (I'll try a little harder) Exo 20:8-11; Psa. 127:1-2

7.) Fast once a week. Isa 58: 6;

8.) Ask the Lord to heal if you become ill. Jam. 5:14 -15; Matt. 9:20-22

9.) Take supplemental vitamins or minerals. They are natural. They help keep up our immune system. They are supplemental. Now, on the side of every vitamin bottle. there's a disclaimer. It says, 'Well, this product is not approved by the CDC or FDA. It is our product, but is not in compliance, 'with their standards.' Like I said, in part one. These entities are all in cahoots. They are joined at the hip. They want your money, more. So the vitamin people, are taking business away from them. And, now because vitamins are becoming a hot commodity in stores. Where, you even have beverage companies coming up with AntiOxident drinks. Take vitamins daily. Vitamins of your choice. Did you know there's vitamins and mineral supplements, that do the same as medications people take from doctors. Do you think, doctors have a corner on the healing of the physical body alone? Are they smarter than God's natural creation? They act like they are. Many of the medications have side effects. Everything we need for healing, God has already created it. Do your own study. Check it out for yourself. That's all I'm saying. If not, then don't. Don't worry, God still loves you.

10.) Live life as this was your last day on earth. I Love You, Lord!

11.) Don't go around confessing your sickness. Ouch!

12. Worship, Read God's word and pray! Remember, the last shall be first. This here is the most important. Why? Read 1 Tim. 4:7-8. Because, the Bible says train yourself to be godly. Focus on your body, but the spiritual is the more important. Physical is VERY important. But our spiritual is what counts. Remember, the spiritual affects the physical. Read also, James 5: 13-16.

Sorry, for this blog, being so long. Yeah, I know it feels like a book. Anyway, may the Lord bless you. May you heed His voice, and live and leave a legacy millions follow after. The legacy of being a yielded person to the Lord Jesus Christ. D.L. Moody said: "The world has yet to see what God can do with and for and through and in a man who is fully and wholly yielded to him. With God's help, I will be that man." or woman.

Leave your comments. If you can. Talk to you later.

Why Is Your Health Important? Pt. 2

Diets Do Not Work!

I knew I would get your attention. In our last blog , I mentioned what the Bible says about our health. What we are facing as a nation and as the Body of Christ. What doctors do not want you to know. Today I would like to talk about 2 keys to health. Key number one to a better health is:

1) Obedience - It simply means glorifying God with our bodies. Look, alot of us want good health, right? Yet, many times we get out there and splurge, and let it all hang out. I'm talking about eating. I'm talking eating all the wrong foods. People get sick because of what they eat, many times. Also, since diets don't work, Its imperative we stay on track concerning the right foods to eat. DIETS DON'T WORK? #!*#?.! Yes, they don't! Just ask Oprah. It is living a well balanced life is what works. Eating the right foods. You say, Ok, Ok, "what are the wrong foods i have to be careful of?"

(Remember I told you, many of you would probably hate me, disassociate with me, or maybe thank the Lord!? But somehow on issues I believe in, you know, I'm just passionate about. And this is one of them.) But don't get mad, alright?

2. Eating the right foods
Did you ever see a overweight guy or lady, big o plate of food in front of them. With a diet soda on the side? Then, you think to yourself? Am I the only one seeing this? (Hey, I'm not perfect, alright?) Well, we need to eat the right foods. And what are the right foods? Well, first let's talk about the wrong foods. I' ll go down the line on a couple of them.

  • Sodas -The average person drinks 37 gallons each year. Many of the drinks contain caffeine. Carbonated beverages tend to destroy kidney cells. It's also a major contributor to obesity. I'm not going to even mention the power drinks many leaders drink. Even some pastors are addicted to Red Bull. Rock Star, and the Monsters of this age.

  • White sugar -The average American eats 175 pounds of sugar every year. And sugar is in pretty much in every processed and packaged product. Did you know that cancer feeds on sugar. That's not to mention all the terrible effects it has on diabetics. And, you do know someone who's diabetic don't you? I think we all do.

  • White Flour - Oh, Oh, here we go! Burritos, White bread, oh, and those flour tortillas! Bread makers of today are not as the bread makers of the OT. The Bible says, that bread gives man strength. Today's 'enriched bread' is just some gooey stuff in your stomach. What do they do? Well, they take out the bran and wheat germ, (The good stuff) they then, sell it to the health food stores. They add artificial flavors and ingredients. Then, they 'enrich' the bread, after they bleach it. Then, sell it to us, and we go ahead and feed that stuff to our kids. Then, we say. 'Hey, I'm doing my job as a parent!" Well. are we? But, let's go on. It gets better.

  • Pork - Yes, BBQ ribs, Carnitas, Chicharonnes, Pork Chops, etc. Now, remember, in spanish, pork means dirty.

Now this meat is the worst. It is the tops. If you're eating this stuff on a daily basis. You had better check your Christianity. Throughout scripture God rails against the eating of this parasite laden flesh. Alright, then, let's talk about it you say again? Alrighty then. NO! Why don't we go farther than that! Let's talk about God's CUCARACHAS(Cockroaches)!

1. The 3 Little Piggies - See here, cows have 4 compartments in their stomach to digest their food. The pig eats trash foods and the unclean foods stays in their flesh. They eat excrement, (Yeah, you know exactly what that means) then it merges with their flesh, then enters us when we eat Tacos de Carnitas.

Interesting Note:
1. Pork is loaded with saturated fats, the highest meat in fats, and cholesterol. There’s cancer in the pig's skin, and other internal organs. Pork products are shot with nitrates that are known to be cancer-causing compounds.

2. Pork also causes bad digestion and stomach problems.

3. It contains trichina larvae, (Worms!) and becomes trichinosis. Before you start to say, "Roy, is one crazy guy!" Well, then you probably belong to the club that says there is no such thing as minute parasites that eat the discarded layers of skin from your body. Which is true. But, let's stay on the subject. You eat the pork, the parasite enters your stomach, and the eggs hatch in the stomach, then invade muscles and tissues. A pig that has been infected with the larvae, has thousands of cysts inside the muscles. The very muscles that we, humans look forward to eating in the form of pork chops, ham, barbecued ribs, etc. Ever heard the saying, "Eat a Pig, Look like a Pig" or “If you want to look like a Marano eat a Pig.”
Ever heard of Living Cell Therapy? Professor Lettre @ Heidelberg University did a survey. That when someone ate pork, and the place wherever the pork came from. The human would gain weight at the place where the part of the pork came from. In other words, if it was from the rump, then you'd gain weight there. Or from the neck and so on. Wow! Pretty astounding stuff, Heh? The Bible says, in Isa 65:3-4 "a people who continually provoke me to my very face, offering sacrifices in gardens and burning incense on altars of brick; 4 who sit among the graves and spend their nights keeping secret vigil; who eat the flesh of pigs, and whose pots hold broth of unclean meat;"

I know what's on your mind: "Well then, What did God make the hog for, if not to eat?" Well, He made it to clean up the garbage. Just like buzzards, shrimp, and crabs. They all have something in common. They're scavengers. Read Isa. 66:17 Hey, I didn't say. God said it. Knowing some Bible theologians, they'll probably go quote me the scripture in Acts where God told Peter to rise up and eat. I know that. But God was talking here about the gospel to the Gentiles. And, if you like pork so much then, I advise you to keep on eating it. Look, I abstain from pork, except on rare occasions. So I'm not so 'holy' on this issue. But you'll probably not see me eat pork, anytime soon. But here's the funny thing. The foods that taste the best, are the worst for you. But the thing is keep a balance. Yet, do you actually think Jesus ate pork? Share with me in scripture where Jesus ate pork. What did Jesus think of pork? He ordered the herd of swine off that cliff to be drowned in the sea! That's what He thought of swine! Also, is it not ironic, that there's a flu out there, called the Swine Flu? Anyway, . . Let's go on.

2. Bubbushka's Shrimp, Lobster & Crab Co. - Yes, there goes your Clam Chowder too!?' I know, these little critters are tasty. I know they are. They even have a show, about fisherman risking their lives on getting the Catch. Yet, once again they are the ones which clean our ocean floor. I wonder what environmental disaster that'll come up, if all these critters are eliminated. I just wonder.

3. Shell fish - You know, the 7 Mares (Seas) kind. Shellfish are the natural filters of the ocean floor. See, all that gook, chemicals, toxins, that flow from your household and mine. Well, it goes somewhere right? It goes to the ocean floor. God created these little creatures to clean them up. You, know the scavenger kind. Then, we the 'all knowing humans', say, 'Hey let's go eat @ Red lobster or some Bubba shrimp place. But its not all that good. Let me tell you a true story. My son was born without his 3 fingers on his left hand. Normal kid. Plays sports, runs track, starts in football on defense and offense, plays the keyboard, in our services. You, know, normal kid. Well, his doctor had to do some final surgery on his left hand. A Dr. Bruce Achauer. One of the country's renown doctors. I believe he was one of the founding members of the Beckman Institute. To make a long story longer. He was eating dinner at a restaurant in San Diego, about 1o years back or so. Then, the man falls over dead from eating oysters or some type of shell fish. That's what I'm told. Shellfish are saturated with the deadly mercury, due to all the toxins. Oh, by the way, feel free to do your homework on all I've said. At the end of this series. I'll give references of the information I have stated.

I'll mention a few more things. Then say a few things that help me personally.

4. Margarine - This is not the best. Butter is natural and is much better. Iv'e heard some enlightening stories of how they make margarine.

5. Artificial sweeteners. There's evidence, that some ingredients are cancer causing.

A Few Things I Do to help: (If I don't help myself, nobody else will. And that's the truth)

  • Put honey in my coffee. Instead of sugar. I put sugar only in fellowship, where people serve me coffee and at get togethers and so on. It costs a little more, but I believe in the long run it'll help me.
  • Cook with Olive Oil. That's why chefs on the food channel, cook with Olive Oil. BAM!!!
  • Eat wheat bread at home. Wheat might cost a little more. But its better for you. Especially the kind that has all kinds of grains. You can even tell the difference, its a bit more heavier.
  • Drink water most of the time. (Ok, I confess. I drink about 2 cups of coffee a day.)
  • I eat alot of chicken, the most I can. Thank God for Pollo Loco!
  • Eat my steak well done. (Whenever I do have steak) Why well done? Because germs and impurities are in the blood. That's why God didn't want His people to eat meat with the blood. That's for all you rare steak lovers.
  • Take natural vitamins. As an added nutrient and supplement. A word for all you parents. If your kids are having growth problems. In other words, if you see they're not growing as they should. (Unless you want your children to be short. That's cool.) Try giving them a daily vitamin with multi vitamins and minerals. See our kids eat those sugary cereals. Then we feel they really had a great breakfast. Then they eat junk food at school and after. But with a little vitamins it can help some. That's all I'm saying.

So as for you. We need you for the long run. We want to see you. To see you living life blessed. To have a long length of life, till Jesus calls you home. To see you fulfill your potential in life, with a sense of destiny, dignity and belonging. And I'm convinced with all my heart, that we will make a difference for the Lord Jesus Christ. So go ahead! Enjoy life why don't you. Do It! Take care of yourself. Step into the supernatural. Step out in faith. Be obedient. Be a person of prayer. Do all you can do for the Lord. And do it with gusto and the best of health. I didn't mean for any of you to get offended. Part I'm writing in satire, and tongue and cheek. But I want the best for you. I really do. Because I Love you and God loves you.

Hey, it would be nice to hear from you! Feel free to leave your comments if something has touched you or if you have further insight on this topic. See Ya!

The Best of Health for 2010!

Best of Health For 2010! Pt. 1
As Christians or otherwise, we live in a society that says, if it feels good, just go and do it. Well, when it comes to our body, it's in reality a life or death issue. Matter of fact, we're as a nation, one of the most smartest and sophisticated societies in the world. On the cutting edge of technology. Have some of the greatest Medical institutes. Yet, we're one of the most obese, have one of the highest rates of heart disease(No#1 Killer), have one of the highest rates of diabetes in the world. Why is that? Huh? And sad to say, many Christians are afflicted with many sicknesses that stop them from performing their God given tasks. Once again why is that? Is it because there is no biblical 411 on the topic? Is it because there's ignorance concerning it? Is it we abuse our bodies, then ask God to bless us, like if its not important? Is it because we have become soft, and self indulgent in how we treat our bodies? Well? The answer could be yes. Now, before we get started, I can't say everyone is as this. For there's many well intentioned people with an eye to their future, concerning their bodies. But, I can say, a majority fall into this department. Even in many churches and evangelical movements, it's not even talked about much. It should. I am waiting for the day that its taught in conferences and seminars widely. For there are many people in our nation who come from abusive lifestyles concerning their health. And they're at greatest risk. Though we reach thousands with the gospel, it's possible we could eat and fellowship till it's out of control, then until our doctor says, "Hey, I want to have a meeting with you. Its very important. If you don't listen, it will go bad for you!" As someone said, we're, "Digging our own grave with a fork." In many churches, we preach God heals. God cares, God can do miracles. But we ourselves could say, "Oh, I forgot to mention I have diabetes. I have high blood pressure. I myself am sick, and take or rely on my doctor for treatment." Look, how can we say we're healed? If we're not? If God heals, then you are completely healed. I'm alluding to those who have run their bodies to the ground, hence, have become afflicted with some type of disease. Also, I'm in no way disrespecting professional medical attention, simple prescriptions or those who have diseases in any way (So please, don't go there). Also I'm not trying to rain on your parade, either. Put yourself in my shoes, or a minister like me. We have to do funerals throughout the year. We have to stand before many times, the children and families of the deceased. And there they are crying, right in front of us. And for us to know, that the deceased didn't listen to us or God's word, on the health issue. Do you know how that feels? Doesn't feel too good. Anyhow, what I'm saying is for us to be proactive. That you and me can do better. That, if we watch our spiritual life, as well as our physical, we can live that abundant life God talks about in His word. So what does the Bible say about our health? Well, I'm glad you asked . . .

1. We are responsible for our bodies. Lev. 11:47
2. God has given us a blueprint for health in Scripture. 3 John 1:2
3. That the more we learn and put it into practice, the better off we'll be.
4. That we can become better through God's healing, progressive healing &
nutrition.

5. That there is a connection between the spiritual and our physical health.

"What Are We Facing Today?"
Here it is, you asked for it. Let me say this. After you read this blog. Many of you will either hate me(Just shoot me why don't you. I'm only a messenger anyway), think I lost it really bad, or some of you, will do your homework(Like I did), then smile and say, Thank You, Jesus! Now, I am no doctor, don't claim to be ever. Don't aspire to be. I've just read alot and looked at many scriptures in the Bible. Everything I went through just pushed me to find the truth, about my health. And even, I, (If I can confess) could lose a few more pounds. I know that. But, also it's kinda rare, (Only by God's grace), that I ever get ill. I'm happy to say, that I've been pretty much the same weight for the last 15 years. So, this topic is meant to push us to live better thoughtful lives concerning our bodies. So we could live fuller healthy lives and do God's will. (Hey, I know this is a very touchy topic for many of you) Ok , here's some stats:

. 18 million Americans have diabetes. 5 million don't know they have it. 1 in 4 Mexican Americans have Diabetes. 50,000 in East Los Angeles alone! Do your homework, Check it out! Diabetes costs the U.S. 132 billion dollars each year. East Los Angeles is the epicenter of our entire nation. I was speaking on this subject a while back in a church in L.A. And, My God, I felt like they were going to lynch me. There were a few angry negative comments negating what I had said, (Really what the Bible Said!) because it was hitting home. Same thing happened in Orlando,Fl. when I started talking about pork ribs. Pork in spanish is Puerco. It means dirty. Hello? People looked at me with that hardcore 'down south' stare that says, Huh, Huh? No, No! Don't you dare mess wit my babyback ribs!!?! I'll slap you silly!

. Obesity. It has reached epidemic proportions. Anne Harmel @ USC said, that 65% of all Americans are overweight. That's 1 in 3. Wow!

. Hepatitus C. There are 180,000 people in L.A. County alone infected with this dreaded disease. Even multiple ministers live with this terrible affliction. I know many of them.

Should I go on? Talk about Mega? That's Mega! Who's at fault here? Many times its parents, schools, and churches, and leaders.

Let's focus our attention on today's doctors. I'd like to mention a few things about them. For they are not guiltess. (Not all doctors. For there are many good doctors. You know that, and I know that. What would we do without doctors?)

What They Don't Want You To Know:

1. That they're banking on you getting sick.
2. That there's alternatives for healing. There's natural alternatives that do a better job than some of their synthetic drugs which have side effects. Just listen for yourself, at those crazy commercials on TV. They say, "This medicine is good, but if taken with whatever, it could kill you. Make sure you consult your doctor," mumbo jumbo.

3. That medical institutes & pharmaceuticals are like the mafia. That's right, its all about money. As a matter of fact, many government officials and or high officials are on the boards of major pharmaceutical companies, to make sure they keep their product on the forefront.

4. That they spend billions of dollars in ads each year. When at the doctors office, notice those traveling salesman who go from office to office giving their clients free literature and samples, (you know, the ones that the doctors give to you for free). They do that to keep hospitals and doctors in line with their products. I tell you, its a multi- biilion dollar industry.

5. That there's things working in other countries which are banned in this country. Ask Farrah Fawcett. Even she mentioned it in the segment filmed on her life.

6. That they'll go out of business if we you get well. Man, could you imagine? If doctors go out of business? We'll probably see them at the front of the local home depot stores asking for work!

7. That people who find cures (without their permission) are called quacks and silenced quickly. By the way, they have the news media in their corner. They have lobbyists in Washington, & in capitols in our nation. Check out one website called quack watch.

I have researched this time and time again. When my wife was going through that treatment I spent many hours researching for a cure. But the chemo and radiation had already done its job on Vera's liver.

What about you?
Are you happy with with your health?
Are you eating according to how God wants you to eat?
Are you willing to make a lifestyle change in your health habits?
Do you realize God has called you for ministry for the long run?

3 Things before I close: 3 John

1.) Dare to be different - v.11
2.) Dare to be Healthy - v.2
3.) Dare to be Faithful - v. 5-6

In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth and populated the Earth with broccoli and cauliflower and spinach, green and yellow and red vegetables of all kinds, so Man and Woman would live long and healthy lives. Then using God’s great gifts, Satan created Ben and Jerry’s and Krispy Kreme Donuts. And Satan said, “You want chocolate with that?” And Man said “Yea,” and woman said, “And another one with sprinkles.” And they gained 10 pounds. And God created the healthful yogurt that woman might keep the figure that man found so fair. And Satan brought forth white flour from the wheat, and sugar from the cane, and combined them. And woman went from size 6 to size 14. So God said, “Try my fresh green salad.” And Satan presented Thousand-Island Dressing and garlic toast on the side. And man and woman unfastened their belts following the repast. God then said, “I have sent you heart healthy vegetables and olive oil in which to cook them.” And Satan brought forth deep fried fish and chicken-fried steak so big it needed its own platter. And man gained more weight and his cholesterol went through the roof. God then brought running shoes so that his children might lose those extra pounds. And Satan gave cable TV with a remote control so Man would not have to toil changing the channels. And man and woman laughed and cried before the flickering light and gained pounds. Then God brought forth the potato, naturally low in fat and brimming with nutrition. And Satan peeled off the healthful skin and sliced the starchy center into chips and deep-fried them. And man gained pounds. God then gave lean beef so that man might consume fewer calories and still satisfy his appetite. And Satan created McDonald’s and its 99-cent double cheeseburger. Then said, “You want fries with that?” And man replied, “Yea! And super size ‘em.” And man went into cardiac arrest. God sighed and created quadruple bypass surgery. Then Satan created HMOs! Hah!

I will go over part 2 next week. Don't worry. It'll just get more interesting, you'll see. Hey, feel free to leave your comments or ideas concerning biblical nutrition. I'd like to hear from you.

When You Lose The One You Love

When You Lose The One You Love

Losing the one you love is one of the hardest, excruciating pains anyone in life can experience. After spending time sharing life and beautiful memories together. Then, in just a matter of time, They're gone. As for me, as a Christian man, and Christian minister, my temperment, is not to be a flashy guy or an extreme extrovert. So you can say, a pretty much shy person. You know, just the quiet type. And as far as relationship with the opposite sex, in the world, you could say, I was never a ladies man. You know, you go through life trying to find the person of your dreams. The person God has for you. You long to find a soul mate and female companion in the Lord, a Christian of course. Then at last, you do find that person. Then, you get married. And have a pretty good wedding ceremony. You pretty much are on a glorious honeymoon for many months to come. So things are going pretty good. Things are Ok, Because you know God is with you. You both are blessed and happy. Except for those arguments. If you, couples know what i mean... But, you're both in the battle together. You travel, you rear your kids, you minister to couples and individuals together. You attend different events. You talk and pray together. You laugh together. People get accustomed to seeing both of you together. You call each other multiple times, to stay connected and just for meaningful communication within marriage. You just sit down after prayer in the morning, and pour her a cup of coffee everyday. Then, just sit and just talk for 45 min. to an hour, daily. Then, all in a sudden,"#!'BAM!.'#!?^#". Then, its like or it becomes a living nightmare. And in that hour, your words, sound something like this, (Because it was what I was saying), "This can't be happening to me!? Why Her? Of all people? God, you know, and I know, There Are Worst Women Than Her! Why her!? Man, My son, what about my son? Have mercy on my son! God, I don't want Elias to lose his Mom!? God! Take me instead! Why her? Take me, instead!? Heal her, and let me take that sickness!" You know, It's something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, which I might not have as much as I did as when I was a little hoodlum, in Orange County, Ca. At that time though, I put everything aside for like 3 months. My ministerial duties, other than preaching and checking up on things. To be honest with you, at that time I cared for the people. But I kinda didn't care about the business of the church. Let me explain, (Remember, I'm only human.). Anyway, here I am losing the One I Loved. She's on our bed, getting more frail by the minute, She can't do alot of things by herself. Including nature calls. And, how can a person be so calloused, and pretty much an insensitive spouse and "Go off into the ministry", and say, "Oh, I was out discipling the guys!?" A spouse, either guy or girl that can do that, when the one you love is passing, is a... (OK, alright, I won't say more. I'll leave it at that.) In other words, you'll never know until you go through it. And I hope you never do, Its that heavy. But, that last month was the most painful, the most intense. But the year prior, when she went through all the chemo treatments, dr. visits, etc. Wow! See, I was married to the one I loved, although it was not easy, it was still great. Because, we loved. Because we had each other, along with our only boy, Elias. Vera, I could say, was a regional Christian leader, regardless if she had a title or not. She was a faithful woman of God, and a heart to heart, back to back partner. She was a most precious mother. She loved and adored our son. Then, after 15 years, she's gone. And boy . . ., talk about heartbreak, talk about doubt, talk about rock your world, talk about misinterpretation before God. Yes, and even, talk about bitterness. (And, she warned me, even in her last day, Roy, don't get bitter at God.) And even through all this, God, in His infinite wisdom, walked closely with me. Even though at times I reproached His touch, and even slapped His Hand, more than once. Questioned His plan and His will for me. Yet, my Lord, was still there for me. Maybe some of you are saying, OK, but can you tell us, What did you learn through all of this?

Well, let me give you 12 things I learned, When You Lose The One You Love:

1. That when one passes on, something is birthed.

2. That you' ll never experience healing in your soul, when you listen to rough and tumble people who make comments like, "Come,On", get over it now, She's gone."

Look, in life if you always listen to critics, or immature people who judge you, you'll never get nothing done for the Lord. Always remember this, "If you have a fight with a skunk, You will never win!" If you can, read the story of the Velveteen Rabbit. Its pretty good.

3. That we are alone, and God is the only One that truly cares and understands. I really like an older Christian song by Russ Taff, called I Cry. Its comforted my heart more than once. Here's the lyrics:

When peace cannot be found
And sleep won't visit me tonight
A restless mind that I can't tame
I walk the floor, I call your name
Finally silence then the tears begin to fall

Chorus:
I cry, and you're the One who hears me calling
I fall so easily but You're there to catch me
Say the words that heal me
I'm safe when I'm with You
You touch my eyes, I can see

Oh, the comfort that You bring
When nothing else can reach inside
Sympathetic friends are all around
Their soothing words fall to the ground
But in the silence I feel you here with me

4. That real friends are a constant presence via, phone, email and or prayer. Many Christian pastors were there for me. I could mention many. But I'll share of one in particular. Pastor Ed Morales of Victory Outreach San Jose. Ed, called me at least once a week for a whole year. 80% of the calls were made on Sunday morning to inform me he was praying for me. And that to have a good service at church. He doesn't even know the encouragment and the difference those calls made. I see him afar off as a mentor and father figure in the Lord. The bottom line, he was there, as were many others.

5. That if I didn't keep moving in Christ, many detrimental issues would clutter my heart.
And, Oh, is it so easy to accumulate clutter. One thing I hate with a passion is paperwork. I mean junk mail especially. We must not allow our hearts to become cluttered. Psa. 51 says, "Create in me a clean heart, O God."

6. That there will always be an empty chair in sight. An empty chair because it's been replaced by the loved one for the heavenly grandstands!

7. That people are watching you, to see if you'll apply God's Word in time of crisis, and be faithful, and keep your eyes on God. To see if you're gonna practice what you preach. You know, you'll be surprised of the amount of people who find out, and really love you. I got mail from even the prison system. A friend I forgot about, who was doing 500 years to life wrote to encourage me! May God bless his heart for that. People are watching. May we give them hope.

8. That when you finally accept it, and continue to be faithful in ministry, God will make you a better person than you were before.

9. That it sure is hard getting over it, but, you will.
Life goes on. You must know the difference between mourning and laziness. To my chagrin, I admit, I had done the latter for a season. It's like, though you're busy in ministry, you kinda go into a depression. Reason? Things have changed. You come home, and she's not there. So you just throw your hands up in the air and say, "Forget about it!" Oh, and by the way, its alright to cry. Thank God for verses such as Isa 26:3 "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you." The key is focus on the LORD.

10. That I still have the call of God upon my life.
And that I must enjoy my role of where I'm at.

11. That it does make a difference when church members take care of their leaders. Many, at that time took very good care of Vera. They had a schedule, a daily schedule to watch her. And were on a constant vigil, in case she needed anything. They stood with her day in and day out. They clothed her, fed her, sang to her, prayed with her, talked to her, and simply loved her for 14 months. The reason our women's ministry is doing OK, is not because of me. Of course, its the Lord. To Him be all the glory! But God used Vera's influence. And its that leadership influence, that is like a voice in their ears to this day. And, its not just the women. The men, also played a big part in my and Elias' time of crisis. They were there. May God bless VOA and its leadership forever. I will never forget it.

12. That there comes a time, when it is a change of seasons. What I mean is, for me its not winter anymore. Its spring time! And if you remember, spring time is when kings go off to war. In other words, we got the wind knocked out of us. We were in a storm and didn't know when it would end. We were in a forest and couldn't see the clearing. But then God. Yes, that's right, God stepped in. Just because you couldn't see Him, doesn't mean He was never there! He was always there! And you as a leader. You as a pastor. You as a Christian worker or disciple, cannot go on through life singing, "What becomes of a Broken hearted, whose loved one is now depar-t-e-d." Instead, sing, "It's a new season, its a new day!"

Listen, at times people will never understand what you've gone through. If I can say this. There's a part of me, that kinda has no respect(Though, I could be wrong) for Christians(I mean personally. but I do respect their call.) who've never experienced pain. Because, although, they say, "Brother, I understand." And, I say, "Oh, really, You Do?" Yet, its not until they actually go through it. Only those who have been hurt deeply, can draw from the well of their painful experiences to heal the heart that hurts. That's just my perspective. And maybe, to be fair, there's others, who may never go through what I did, yet their pain is somewhat comparable. So we can never put people to the side. We must still value them. Sometimes Christians must stand with the attitude that says, 'Brother or Sister, I may or may not understand, but I'm still there with you in heart, as a Christian and fellow soldier in Christ. And regardless of how you feel, I'm there to intercede for you because I love you in the Lord.

So today, beloved, You need to know God loves and has a plan for your life. He's with you. If you lost a husband, wife, mother, father, brother, sister, son or daughter, or maybe someone who raised you, a friend, or loved one. God hears the cry of your heart. And why do we cry? Because we miss them. Because they were in our lives but for a short time. Because we might wish they were back here. Because we know they will not come back, but we will go to them, when God calls us home. And even then. They will not be wives, husbands, dads or moms, sons or daughters. They will be like the angels in heaven Jesus said. So today, you must keep growing in the Lord. Stay close to Him, your leaders, your pastor, and solid Christian friends who Love the Lord. It'll help you go on for the long run, when 'You Lose The One You Love." Know this, you'll also go down this road, eventually, but hopefully not. It is a part of life. Yet, its how you handle it that counts. Many, sad to say, go ballistic, do the wrong things, make the wrong choices, all because their feet were not planted in Christ. You need God. And I share this with you in love, because I've gone through it, and continue on in my walk with my God, and Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ. If I can do it, you can make it. So, come on now, smile. Laugh. Why don't you walk with God side by side, hand in Hand. Then, somehow, I kinda think you'll be alright with the Lord. God loves you and I love you. Keep the Passion for the Mission.

Feel free to post any comments or something that has helped you in your journey. Thanks.

what it takes to reach the inner city

What does it take to reach people in inner cities?
We as a people have our work cut out. As the demographics constantly change, and the economic crisis impacts literally millions of families. We can be so absorbed with our own situation and be numb to needs. And yet, throughout, things do not just stay the same. Things change, either for better or for worse. Kinda sounds, like the words stated often enough at a marriage altar. For better or for worse. Yes, in the inner cities things can change very rapidly. I know. Being a young kid growing up in the violent and drug infested streets of Santa Ana, Ca. And just simply to be convinced one can quickly pick up or log into our favorite news media of today. Many people email, comment or judge. and its so easy to do that. Yet, God has put us in the place of our surrounding to make a difference. Yes, and you can make a difference. Even if its one by one, we still can make a difference. We have been called by God to change our environment, not our environment to change us.

5 ways we make a difference in today's inner city?

1. Pray for your community
Pray for loved ones involved. Pray for their salvation. Without prayer we're telling God we
don't need His help. Remember, only God can change a heart. Only God can forgive sin. Pray.

2. Live an exemplary life.
What I mean is be an example. Jesus said in Matt. 7:1-5, that how can we judge others or
may I say, how could we attempt to help others when we ourselves are still diseased, and engulfed in a sinful lifestyle. Am I talking perfection? No. I'm talking of a life pleasing to God, empowered by the Holy Spirit. Live a life worthy of following.

3. Involve yourself in missions and outreach of your church.
Many people think they must be a TV personality or a preacher in some large evangelistic
crusade. Did you know, that a doctor does not do surgery with a chainsaw, but a scalpel. You can reach others just by being yourself. Just by you being you. You being right with God, living in the Lord, being submitted to authority and having a love for others. That means you becoming an agent of change. Its you and me heeding to the outward call of God.

4. Develop a passion for disciplemaking.
The object of evangelism is discipleship. That's what Jesus planned and had in mind when He
called the 12 disciples. And that's what he did. He worked and taught them how to live. He exemplified what it would take to bring the gospel to generations around the globe. He trained them in such a way, to prepare them for the hardship of they would endure in futuristic missionary endeavors. 2 Tim 2:2; Matt 28: 19-20. Jesus said:

1.) Go with my Power - v. 18
2.) Go with My Program - v.19
3.) Go with My Presence - v.20

My pastor, Sonny Arguinzoni Sr. and founder of Victory Outreach International, has
experience many, many times much more than myself concerning urban evangelistic and global transformation. commented:

"If there was ever a time that Christians have been challenged in the inner city it is today – this day and hour that we’re living. In fact, you will find that the Holy Spirit seems to be targeting the inner cities." Internalizing the Vision (1995, 31)
Picture this: If we were to lead 1,000 people to God each year for 10 years. That would be 10,000 people reached at the end of 10 years. Right? But, if we as leaders, disciple 2 people each year, and if they double themselves each year for 10 years, the number would be 59,049 disciples. Is that amazing!!? So, develop a passion for disciplemaking . . .
5. Become a steadfast Christian
This simply means stay on top of things. Do not let up concerning your love for God, people and your personal life. Many a success story has come to pass, because of consistency. If we were to read of powerful figures in scripture, we would come to find they were individuals with faults and imperfections. Just like us. Yet, they always returned to the Lord ,and never strayed far from God's grace and call of God. Now, I'm not saying we should go and indulge in any type of sin. I'm saying, we will make mistakes in life. Yet, we must stay on the
battlefield, faithfully. I have been a minister of the gospel, a simple individual working with people 16 years. And in those 16 years I've had one goal in mind. To lead people to the Lord, build them up in the faith, and release them into God's field. And, I'm happy to say. It's worked. Yes, that's right, The Vision Continues. Yes, friends, it is your time. We can make a difference. Our greatest days are ahead of us. Oh, and may I say, that the greatest ever to be born have yet to be born. That the greatest singers, greatest evangelists, and pastors are yet to be risen up. You are part of a new breed, a new generation. And God is willing, if you are available. Then, you will become someone who'll surely make a difference in thousands of lives concerning their eternal destinies. One of my friends and mentor, Pastor Sam Sanchez, who is now in the glories of heaven, used to say, "He has not called sharp tools. He has called tools He can sharpen!"
Dietrich Bonhoeffer also said it right that: "The righteous man is one who lives for the next generation." God will use you and be with you every step of the way in our efforts.
